Stingrays extend affiliation with Washington, Hershey
North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays and the National Hockey League’s Washington Capitals have renewed their affiliation for the 2009-10 season. The extension also applies to the American Hockey League’s Hershey Bears, the 2009 Calder Cup Champions, for the fifth consecutive campaign.

Stingrays Win Playoff Tune-up 3-2 Over the Checkers
Charlotte, NC – In a playoff dress rehearsal against the Charlotte Checkers, the South Carolina Stingrays saw a two goal third period lead disappear, but Spencer Carbery got the game winner with less than eight minutes to go, and beat the Checkers 3-2 at the Time Warner Cable Arena.

Stingrays Make Roster Additions
North Charleston, SC – The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach/General Manager Jared Bednar announced today that rookie forward Mike Curry has been acquired from the Alaska Aces in exchange for future considerations. In a separate transaction, the Stingrays have signed free agent forward Spencer Carbery. In keeping with club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Morin, Kroll and Neuvirth Selected to Represent Rays at All-Star Game
North Charleston, SC – The South Carolina Stingrays announced today that Travis Morin, Johann Kroll and Michal Neuvirth have been selected to represent the Stingrays in the 2009 All-Star Game held in Reading, PA. The Reading Royals, the City of Reading and the Sovereign Center will host the 17th Annual ECHL All-Star Game on Jan. 21, 2009 and the 12th Annual All-Star Skills Competition on Jan. 20, 2009.

Charlotte, NC – Paul Kelly scored the game’s first goal in the third period to give the Rays the lead, but they would eventually fall in the shootout to the Charlotte Checkers at the Time Warner Cable Arena.

North Charleston, SC – Keith Johnson scored two goals in the first period for the South Carolina Stingrays, but it wasn’t enough as the Elmira Jackals scored two unanswered goals in the second period and held on in the third for a 3-2 win at the North Charleston Coliseum.

North Charleston, SC – The South Carolina Stingrays scored three goals in the first ten minutes of the game which was enough to defeat the Elmira Jackals by a score of 4-2 at the North Charleston Coliseum.
