New York police department still rely on typewriters
Some units of the New York Police Department still function more like “Dragnet” than “CSI.“ They rely on typewriters. The 20th-century writing devices are used for filling out forms that officers file when they seize items during investigations. The NYPD’s bill for typewriter maintainance? Nearly $433,000.
