The fall bike rally is officially over and even with clear skies and warm temperatures not enough bikers came to the Grand Strand.  This year, the crowds were noticeably smaller.

Myrtle Beach has been trying to discourage motorcycle riders from visiting, but another is considering a second rally this year.

South Carolina civil rights leaders say they will be watching police and businesses as thousands of black motorcyclists head toward the coast.

The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reported that bikers were enjoying themselves in North Myrtle Beach on Sunday, where the bigger city’s rules don’t apply. Horry County also added laws to reduce problems.

The beach’s spring bike rally was supposed to happen eleven weeks from today but organizers with the Carolina Harley-Davidson Dealers Association announced Monday that they are moving on and moving up the coast.

A new Web site is telling the world that, as far as the city of Myrtle Beach is concerned, there will be no biker rallies at the beach this spring.

More than 100 motorcyclists have been killed this year on South Carolina roadways. The State of Columbia reports it’s the third year in a row motorcycle deaths have topped 100 in the state, although the total of 103 deaths reported through Tuesday is below the 119 biker deaths reported in the same period in 2007.
