Division spokesman Derrec Becker said Tuesday officials are in close contact with the National Hurricane Center and Gov. Mark Sanford about the storm.
Hanna Downgraded…For Now
Hanna has now been downgraded from a hurricane to a tropical storm as it moves erratically through the Bahamas. Hanna will likely regain hurricane status later today or tomorrow.

Hanna strengthens, Southeast coast on alert
Hurricane Hanna continues to strengthen over the Bahamas with maximum sustained winds near 80 miles per hour. Hanna is a category one hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale.

After a day where we were dodging raindrops from time to time, it looks like the next couple of days will be very quiet. We expect that the impact from Hurricane Hanna will be felt later in the week, maybe beginning as early as Thursday afternoon or evening.
