The fight between South Carolina Lieutenant Governor Andre Bauer and Gov. Mark Sanford took on a different tone after accusations that Sanford supporters are spreading rumors that Bauer is gay.

The governor’s lawyer told the Greenville News, that South Carolina’s comptroller general in 1987 authorized state officials to buy business-class airline tickets for international trips.

While many state representatives say Gov. Mark Sanford should be removed from office for some of his moral errors and possible ethical mistakes, several members of the House of Representatives say he is hurting the state’s economy, another reason why Sanford should not remain as governor.
