Trooper acquitted of civil rights violation could be back at work Monday
The head of South Carolina’s Public Safety Department says a trooper acquitted of intentionally ramming a fleeing suspect will be reinstated. Department of Public Safety Director Mark Keel said Friday that Lance Cpl. Steven Garren could be back on the force as early as Monday.
Trooper not guilty
A South Carolina trooper is not guilty of depriving a suspect of his civil rights by using unreasonable force. This afternoon a jury acquitted Lance Cpl. Steven Garren.
