A number of people in the Lowcountry called News 2 to tell us about “a boom” they heard on Sunday. We asked a College of Charleston geology professor if it was related to Tuesday’s earthquake.
Update: damage reports from local earthquake
Most of the damage reports from Tuesday morning’s 3.6 magnitude earthquake centered just southwest of Summerville were minor.
USGS moves epicenter of Tuesday quake to Summerville
The original epicenter of the quake was Goose Creek, but the barrage of reports from the Summerville area, coupled with updated date caused the USGS to make the change.
