South Carolina Congressman Henry Brown, introduced legislation on Wednesday to prevent Guantanamo Bay detainees from being transferred to the Navy brig in Charleston.

Incumbent Henry Brown has thwarted a well-funded challenge to win re-election to the U.S. House from South Carolina’s 1st District.

U.S. Representative Henry Brown won re-election Tuesday to his District 1 seat. 

It’s been three decades since a Democrat won in South Carolina’s coastal 1st Congressional District and if that doesn’t change this Election Day, it won’t be for lack of trying.

Through the end of September, Ketner had raised just over $850,000, compared to about $760,000 for Brown.
