Boeing is set for the first test flight of the 787 Dreamlilner, as the much anticipated jet takes to the air for the first time Tuesday.

State and local leaders gathered in North Charleston on Friday to break ground for the new $750 million Boeing aircraft assembly plant, the largest industrial investment in state history.

The builder awarded the contract to build the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner plant in North Charleston, could announce the major subcontractors it will use for construction this week.
