Texas Kindergartner crushed to death in front of classmates

A 5-year-old Texas Kindergartner was crushed to death in front of her classmates when a portable closet fell on top of her during gym class Wednesday.

Princanna Strain died before the two teachers present could lift the closet off of her.

Her school, Hines Elementary is under construction, so classes are being held at G.L. Wiley, and it was in the gym there that the portable closet fell on Princanna.

Two kindergartners say they were chasing a lizard when they climbed onto the closet.

It tipped over onto Princanna before the gym teacher and kindergarten teacher could catch it.

That portable closet was taken out of the gym wrapped in plastic.

The district is removing all other closets like it from every classroom in the district.

The school psychologist recommended the principal and teachers not tell students.

They sent a letter home to parents detailing what happened.

Princanna would have turned six years old later this month.
