Nearly a dozen Union County pastors organized a prayer service Wednesday evening at the Union County Courthouse.

The prayer event featured music and area pastors speaking for a short time, as well as a time of prayer for the county.

The event was organized in response to the recent events, involving former and current public officials being indicted and/or resigning.

The pastors we spoke to say, residents need some positive events, to shift focus from the negative.

Some of the pastors involved in the program were: Shep Bevis, of New Life Baptist; Tommy Bailey, of Duncan Acres United Methodist; Robert Alexander, of First Presbyterian; Robert Emory, of First Baptist; Benny Greene of Mon Aetna Baptist; and Robert Chapman, of Tabernacle Baptist.
