Mike Campbell may make a second bid for the GOP nomination for lieutenant governor.

The son of late Gov. Carroll Campbell told The Associated Press Monday that he’s mulling running again.

News of Campbell’s interest came from The Palmetto Scoop, a political blog.

Campbell has more than $30,000 left in his campaign account after a 2006 primary runoff with Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer. He’ll decide early next year whether to run.

Bauer, U.S. Rep. Gresham Barrett and Attorney General Henry McMaster are frequently mentioned as likely 2010 gubernatorial candidates. Bauer didn’t immediately respond to a voice mail message about those plans.

Campbell also is considering working with wrestler Ric Flair on a reality TV series.
