A robbery Wednesday morning lead to the search for a Burger King employee who got away while the crime was happening. Greenville County Deputies say robbers held up the restaurant on White Horse Road near Westcliffe Way just before one o’clock in the morning.

Deputies say, Michael Kelly, 19, ran down Westcliffe Way and sent a text message to his mother for help. Officers spotted him on that street and told him to wait there while they went to the restaurant, but they couldn’t find him later and started a search.

Deputies say they found him around 2:30 am Wednesday morning hiding behind Westcliffe School. We’re told he was okay, just very scared.

Deputies only have a vague description of the two robbers.
