Teen killed while hunting in Orangeburg

Authorities say a teenager has been killed while hunting in the woods in rural Orangeburg County. Coroner Samuetta Marshall said Friday that 16-year-old Joshua Gainey died from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Lt. Robert McCollough of the Natural Resources Department says the teen was shot in an apparent accident while walking through the woods Thursday evening. Marshall says Gainey’s death is under investigation.
