SC Gov.‘s political ally cautions patience

U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, a personal friend and ally of embattled Gov. Mark Sanford, says people should take a deep breath and let the state Ethics Commission do its job looking into the governor’s travel.
Graham tells The Associated Press that Sanford feels frustrated that his side of the story isn’t getting out, but if thecommission’s findings are bad for the governor, it will be difficult for Sanford to remain.
If the report is positive for the governor, Graham thinks Sanford can be effective staying on.
Graham says there has been bad blood between some lawmakers and the governor for a long time. But, he says, all lawmakers must put personality disputes aside and work for the common good.
