The South Carolina church deacon and youth soccer coach accused of trying to rob a bank has been formally indicted.

Court records released Thursday show a federal grand jury has indicted 43-year-old Bruce Windsor on charges of trying to rob a bank by force and carrying a weapon while committing a violent crime.

Prosecutors say Windsor entered Greenville First Bank with a gun and mask in late February, then forced two women into an office and demanded they fill two boxes with money. Windsor eventually gave up peacefully and released the hostages uninjured.

Windsor’s family has said the real estate broker and father of four snapped because of financial problems.

Last month, a federal judge ordered that Windsor receive a psychiatric evaluation.

He is scheduled for arraignment on April 30.
