An inmate who walked away from his job at a Greenville poultry plant has been caught.

Authorities say they found 39-year-old Joe Dean Bellis in a car with two other people driving down a Greenville road Wednesday afternoon.

Bellis was allowed to work at Columbia Farms while serving a four-year sentence for grand larceny. Investigators say he walked away from the plant Tuesday.

Prison officials say Bellis will be sent to a maximum security prison and faces a felony escape charge that could add up to 15 years to his time behind bars.

Authorities say the two men with Bellis are charged with aiding and abetting a fugitive.
