Last Week when the threat of Hurricane Ike was approaching the Texas Coast There was a lot of talk about the potential for higher gas prices. It didn’t take long for these fears to become a reality, as we watched the prices here in south Carolina jump from 3-61 a gallon to 450 even 523 at some stations in just a matter of hours.

2 Cents - The Smoking Ban Wagon
The city of The Isle of Palms is the latest town trying to jump on the “smoking ban wagon” after the city council voted Tuesday evening to pass the first reading of the ban that would snuff out public smoking. If passed, the Isle of palms would be fourth town in our area to be smoke free joining the likes of Mount Pleasant, Sullivan’s island and the city of Charleston.
