2 Cents - Rush Limbaugh

As you have probably heard, conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh recently said he “hopes” President Obama fails.

In the full context of what he said, it’s clear he’s talking about liberal policies. but it’s still the wrong message to send in this economic crisis.

Ultimately what is Mr. Limbaugh saying? He wants things to get worse for America? He’s hoping our country will fail?  More of our neighbors will lose their jobs and lose their homes to foreclosure? The stock market will continue to flounder?  We are in the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression… We are fighting a war in the Middle East on two fronts. What we need now is for President Obama to be wildly successful!  I am all for freedom of speech, but there is a time and place for everything. Limbaugh has crossed the line. We are all Americans and he needs to remember that.

Limbaugh recently said that we are in a recession but he chooses not to participate. Well you know, most of us don’t have that luxury.

Tom Brokaw recently said what we need now is “all hands on deck” and for everyone, all Americans, “To grab an oar.“  Now is the time to get behind our leaders! 

Whether or not you voted for Barack Obama, he is our President and he is working with both parties to find solutions that will make our lives and the lives of future generations better. Will there be some setbacks and missteps along the way?

Sure there will, but you know what?  I’m hoping and praying he succeeds.
