2 Cents: Medical cut backs

It’s no secret that in this economy, people are trying to save money every way they know how… but certainly if there is one industry that is safe from the cut backs it would have to be the medical profession right? WRONG! You would think that even in the midst of an economic crisis that we would still be able to realize how important our health is, but a recent trip to my own doctor made me think otherwise. As we began to make conversation about the economy, I was surprised to learn that his practice has been suffering as well. Apparently people are putting off things like annual physicals and preventative exams in an effort to save money. Listen, I know times are hard but they could be a lot worse. Especially if you don’t have your health. I mean think about it? If you’re not well, you can’t work and that’s a crisis. We all need to be careful with our money right now, but cutting out health care shouldn’t be an option. If I have to choose between saving money and saving my life, I’m going with my life.

I’m Rick Lipps and that’s my two cents.
