2 Cents: Face of the republican party?

This week, some of our politicians have been wasting time on a petty debate: who is the face of the republican party?

It started when Democrat and White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel anointed conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh the GOP’s leader.

That’s obviously an insult to the elected R-N-C chair Michael Steele.  Steele responds by referring to Limbaugh’s popular radio talk show as “incendiary.“

Limbaugh fights back of course, but that’s neither here nor there. This country didn’t elect Limbaugh into office and it’s in his best interest to keep a controversy going.

my two cents:  who cares?

I imagine there are thousands of people out there who could care less about “the face” of any party right now. Sure we care about who leads the country, that’s why we have elections. What face these politicians should be worrying about are the faces of those homeowners losing their homes to foreclosure; the faces of people who were once considered middle class and now worry about food on the table . Faces of Kids who are being shortchanged in our education system and no longer see a possibility of a College degree, faces of the growing number of unemployed parents.

every Politician has promised to do the right thing for the American people and the right thing to do is to work on fixing our economy. Doing the right thing is what makes a leader. When you have issues as important to our survival as we now have and the solutions are divided down party lines then folks we have a problem. Defending ideology instead of solving a common problem is a scary scenario. What happened to the election rhetoric of “reaching across the aisle?  I’m Rick Lipps and that’s my two cents.
