It’s not often that you will see rival television networks set aside their competitive nature and join together. To warrant such collaboration, a cause would have to be monumentally significant.
Well folks… this one is.
Tonight, our network, NBC, will join with ABC and CBS in an event aimed to put an end to the worlds leading cause of death, Cancer.
Brian Williams, Charles Gibson and Katie Couric will all be on hand to host the one hour, commercial free benefit special “Stand up to Cancer”. The national broadcast will feature life saving information about cancer research and detection. There will be live performances and appearances from some of today’s top entertainers and directly preceding the broadcast News 2 will air a local “stand up to Cancer” special to be co-anchored by Carolyn Murray and Rob Fowler, a Cancer Survivor.
If you watch nothing else on television the entire week, Please make sure you tune into tonight’s broadcast beginning at 7:30pm.
We all know someone who has been affected by cancer and tonight is our time to stand together against a disease that so viciously attacks with out concern for your color, your class, your age or your gender.
Caner affects us all.
For more information about this cause please visit standup2cancer.org
We hope to see you tonight.
