2 Cents - Mudslinging

A famous canadian politician once said that politics is made up largely of irrelevancies.

If you’re paying attention to our presidential campaign, you know exactly what he meant.

John McCain is trying to tie barack obama to a sixties radical.

Obama is reminding us of mccain’s role in the savings and loan scandal in the 1980s.

Not only is all of that irrelevant… it’s an insult to voters who are trying to make up their mind based on each candidates platform we only have days to decide.

Our economy is on the verge of collapse.

Thousands of people are losing their homes and their jobs.

If you have a 401K… your quarterly report was missing something… a lot of your money.

And don’t forget the two wars we’re fighting in iraq and afganistan..and the fact that many americans are still in need of adequate healthcare…so while all the mudslinging does make for entertaining skits on Saturday Night Live, it does not begin to solve our real problems - which aren’t funny.

We need to hear what McCain and Obama are going to do… to get us out of a big mess.

That is what’s relevant.

I’m Rick Lipps, and that’s my two cents.
