Republican Convention back on track

Though the schedule is being reworked, things are mostly getting back to normal today at the Republican convention.

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani was scheduled to give the keynote address tonight, but former Senator Fred Thompson and Senator Joe Lieberman will speak instead.

Lieberman tells CNN he isn’t going to attack Barack Obama, but instead he’ll explain why he’s “an independent Democrat voting for Senator McCain.“

White House officials say there’s also a possibility President ush will address the convention from Washington. But a spokeswoman says whether that’ll happen tonight hasn’t been determined yet.

Exactly what Bush’s role will be appears to rest with the McCain campaign.
