Sonia Sotomayor has been lighting up lawmakers’ phone lines.

The White House says the Supreme Court nominee has spoken with the top Democrat and Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, which will oversee her confirmation hearings.

Sen. Jeff Sessions said in a nationally broadcast interview he doesn’t foresee a filibuster fight over her nomination. But, theRepublican says, “The nominee has serious problems.“

Sotomayor has also spoken with the parties’ Senate leaders, Democratic Sen. Harry Reid and Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell—and she plans to start visiting senators next week.

The White House and its allies are readying a major push to persuade more GOP senators to back her confirmation.

Sessions is promising a thorough vetting of the appellate court judge during her hearing.
