President-elect Barack Obama says he’s bringing in an economic team that combines experience and fresh ideas.

He announced today the appointment of an advisory board from outside government that will offer input on his efforts to help the economy recover.

He was asked if he supports the administration’s $800 billion financial bailout plan.

He responded that he supports the Treasury’s efforts to make credit available to help businesses keep their doors open.

When asked if he’s abandoning his promise of change by bringing back people from the Clinton administration, Obama responded that he wants people with experience, and that he himself will offer a
new vision.

He pointed out that the staff chief of the economic recovery panel - Austan Goolsbee from the University of Chicago - has never worked in Washington.
