Las Vegas man buys radio time to advertise his job search

In a tough job market, the unemployed have come up with ways to stand out from the crowd.

We’ve seen people advertise themselves in newspaper ads, even post their resumes on billboards.

Now one Las Vegas man is making a big impression the way no one else in town has.

Dave Wilson is willing to do anything after four months of looking for work the traditional way.

So far, nothing has worked.

Now, Wilson is putting himself out there with the one thing no one else has: his voice.

“In order to stand out from everyone else that’s looking for a job, I need to do something different,“ he explained.  “I’m selling my ability to hopefully get a job.“

He about to become a voice you know on KXNT Newstalk Radio.

“When I got the call from Dave a few weeks ago, I go, ‘Why didn’t anyone think of that?‘ Dave is the first,“ says Jack Landreth, KXNT Program Director.

Wilson paid a couple hundred dollars for his ads to air.

With at least 150,000 listeners tuning in each day, he says it’s a good investment.

“I’m pretty confident I’m going to get some phone calls, and we’ll see how it goes. But I feel pretty confident.“

Wilson’s 60-second radio ads will hit the airwaves on KXNT Radio starting Monday.

He says he hopes his creative thinking will get a good reception.
