Inauguration Tickets & Hotels

Inauguration Tickets & Hotels
» 1 Comment | Post a Comment

It’s the hottest ticket in town, the 2009 Presidential Inauguration… and it’s usually free, but not this year.

There are several online sites selling tickets, some of them not legitimate, but some are…  But remember this, you need to dig deep to attend.. One site was selling tickets for more than 20-thousand bucks.

And even at two months away, hotel rooms in Washington DC, are already hard to come by for the Inauguration. Many hotels say they started booking rooms back in the Summer and are already filled up. If you’re going, book now… competition is fierce for the few remaining rooms.

Yup, most hotels in the immediate DC area are booked. However, it's not impossible to find a room -- just have to be crafty... First, plan on staying at least 3 nights (4 will give you more options). Most hotels have minimum stay policies in effect for that period. Consider staying in outlying Virginia & Maryland towns. You can stay about an hour out of DC, drive and park at a Metro station, then get into DC (you won't want to drive/park in DC anyways).
