A ferocious fox is terrorizing a Florida neighborhood.

Traps are now set all around the Port St. Lucie neighborhood where the fox attacked two women.

The animal tried to get into Laura Cook’s car as she sat behind the wheel.

“Just jumped, just boom.  Jumped right on the hood and he’s scratching to get up there and all of a sudden he comes over here and grabs the windshield, pulls it. He’s going back and forth, shaking his head, you can hear him growling,“ she recalled.

The same fox had just attacked Lisa McGlone.

She was gardening when the animal latched onto her leg.

“It kept coming back like a little shark,“ McGlone said.

Port St. Lucie Animal Control sent a reverse 911 call warning neighbors.

They hope to find the fox and figure out why it attacked.

Foxes are typically nocturnal and they stay away from humans, so even without testing, officers know there’s something wrong with the animal.

Laura Cook washed most of the drool and fur off her car, but you can still see scratches.

She says the critter clung to the hood, even after she turned on the windshield wipers.

Cook say she’s seen foxes in the neighborhood before, but never one like this.

McGlone has to get rabies shots, which cost roughly $2,000.

Her dog, which was also bitten, is up to date on her shots.

Animal control officers urge anyone who sees the fox to leave it alone and call 911.
