A Florida middle school student is making a big stink after he was suspended from riding his school bus for passing gas.
Jonathan Locke, junior admits he was laughing, even though he swears it wasn’t him.
But when someone riding home on the bus Monday passed some gas Locke got the blame.
“And then the next day, I get on the bus and they hand me a referral that said that I was suspended off the bus for three days for passing gas on the bus,“ said Locke.
The bus driver wrote up the eighth grader for disrupting the ride and making it hard to breathe.
“I told them it wasn’t me, and they were like, yeah, I think it was,“ Locke said.
“I know you can’t search somebody for something like that. You frisk ‘em down, or stand over here and let me smell each one of ya and see which one done it,“ said his dad Jonathan Locke senior.
Jonathan Locke, senior thinks the punishment stinks.
His son can’t ride the bus for the rest of the week.
“How can you control that, when it’s so funny? You know? Because it is funny,“ said Locke senior.
But all joking aside he says the fall out from the incident is disrupting Jonathan’s education.
Locke attends bill Duncan Excel Center in Lakeland.
It’s a last-chance school for students who’ve been kicked out of other schools.
Locke can start riding the bus again on Monday.
At which point he and his dad hope all of this has blown over.
