A lot of Thanksgiving travelers might be in for a rude surprise this week. If you haven’t flown in a while get ready to face a slew of new fees.

The Wright family just checked their bags to grandma’s house.

Beverly Wright says “three bags, $15 each, $45 total.“

That’s now the going rate at almost every major U.S. airline but the fees don’t end there.

Portia Hodge noticed the difference from last year.

Portia Hodge says “one snack box was $6, another snack box was $9.“

But it was the water on a U.S. Airways flight she couldn’t believe.

Portia says “I asked for some water and she was like $3 and I was like I’ll cancel.“

Some Airlines are now charging for the convenience of curbside check-in.

On United, a little extra legroom can be yours, for a fee.

Here’s an easy way to know which fees you’ll face when you get to the airport. The travel website FareCompare.com has an online chart listing every airline and every fee they charge. It is a very long list.

Large bags, heavy bags, pets, and more, holiday travelers will pay for all of it.

Portia says “it’s ridiculous, the ticket is already expensive, at least they could give us water.“

So this year, you might want to bring a few extra ones and take some advice from the Wrights.

Beverly Wright says “nothin’ I can do about it… go with the flow.“

If you want to see the entire airline fee chart, you’ll find it at http://www.farecompare.com
