Force Protection unveils patrol vehicle in Europe

A South Carolina company that makes mine-resistant armored vehicles is unveiling a new lightly armored patrol vehicle in Europe.

The European subsidiary of Ladson-based Force Protection Industries Inc. unveiled its Ocelot at a trade show in London on Tuesday.

The company said the vehicle is designed to meet the requirements of the United Kingdom’s Light Protected Patrol Vehicle program.

The Ocelot is a 7 1/2-ton vehicle which can be transported in a C-130 plane or under a Chinook helicopter.
