Polls Open: Election day in Mt. Pleasant
Voters to elect new mayor, and 4 new council members.
It is election day across the Lowountry!
We will be watching some big races across the area, including the race for mayor in the Town of Mount Pleasant. Billy Swails, Gary Santos, and Joe Bustos are vying for the seat left vacant by the now retired Mayor Harry Hallman.
There are also 19 candidates running for just four seats on town council.
In the Town of Awendaw, Mayor William Alston has a challenger for the first time ever. Councilman and Mayor Pro Tem Samuel Robinson is challenging Alston this year.
In the City of Charleston, districts 2, 8, 10, and 12 have races for city council.
Moncks Corner voters will have the opportunity to vote on Sunday sales of beer and wine.
These are just some of the races, and issues in which you will have a say.
