WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today (Wednesday), U.S. Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina) made the following statement upon learning that Boeing plans to locate their new assembly line in Charleston, S.C.
“I want to congratulate the entire Charleston community for their strong work ethic and optimism that continues to attract new business to South Carolina,” said Senator DeMint. “This is exciting news and it shows that South Carolina continues to be one of the best places in the world to do business. Boeing will continue to ‘deliver the dream’ to South Carolina and their customers as they create hundreds of highly skilled, highly paid manufacturing jobs in our region. Boeing already has a significant presence in South Carolina, and this decision just solidifies the strong partnership between South Carolina’s citizens and the company. I’m also thankful for the local and state partners who have worked together to bring this major development to our region.“
