The North Charleston Fire Department, City Council, and Mayor R. Keith Summey will break ground on Fire Station 12, located at the corner of Palmetto Commerce Parkway and Carolina Commerce Parkway, on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 10:00 am.

Fire Station 12 is projected to be completed in August 2010.

“With the addition of the City’s 12th Fire Station we will increase the service and protection we provide to our constituents,” said Mayor Summey. “Ensuring the well being of our citizens and their property is our most important responsibility.”

Fire Chief Greg Bulanow stated, “The new station on Palmetto Commerce Parkway is an ideal strategic location to support both the commercial and residential growth in this area of the City.”

He continued, “Residents and businesses throughout the City will experience improved fire protection as a result of this addition of public safety capability.”

The public is invited to Wednesday’s ceremony.
