U.S. Rep. Henry Brown has introduced a bill in Congress to prevent Guantanamo Bay terror detainees from being brought to the Navy brig near Charleston.
President-elect Barack Obama’s advisers are crafting plans to close Guantanamo and prosecute terrorism suspects in the United States.
But Brown said Wednesday housing them in Charleston would be, as he put it, “a horrible mistake.“
He says the detainees are dangerous and the brig is a medium-security prison. He says it’s less than a mile from densely populated areas and near the North Charleston port terminal as well as Interstate 526.
Brown says all alternatives should be considered before closing Guantanamo.

I agree with Henry Brown bring the Guantanamo Bay terror detainees to Charleston area is not a good move detainees are to dangerous to be put so close to a densely populated areas and near the North Charleston port terminal as well as Interstate 526. It would open this area up for possible attack on port terminals and a lot of work would need to be do to up grade the Navy brig to handle the high risk they will bring. I think the people in this area should have say in this matter. President-elect Barack Obama is acting to fast on this matter. If he does he is but us and are way of life in danger, but what dose he care he dose not live here. Go for Henry Brown please stop him.
