The dunking booth is ready, the bar is stocked, and the raffle prizes are gathered—all in preparation for this Thursday’s 1st Annual Women’s “Suddenly Single” Happy Hour & Market Fair at the Historic Rice Mill Building Thursday night from 5:30 to 7:30 PM.

The event, which is hosted by Danna Childress, Financial Advisor at Mt. Pleasant financial services firm Financial Management Group, is shaping up to be a night not to be missed for the hundreds of recently divorced and separated “Suddenly Single” women in the Lowcountry.

“I wanted to create an event where women could come together, socialize with each other, and learn from one another and so the “Suddenly Single” concept was born,” Childress said. “Women are often thrust into an unfamiliar situation quickly in the case of separation or divorce, and they don’t know where to turn to get their answers. I think that this event will create the perfect forum to give these women the information they need to answer the question, ‘Ok, so what now?’”

Not only will there be over 10 of the areas most prominent female divorce and family law attorneys present, but there will also be a large number of local businesses, organizations and individuals at the event’s market fair set up with interactive display booths to provide a support network of women helping women.

“I am very pleased that we have gathered the vast level of community support behind this event that we have,” Childress commented. “In addition to so many of our area’s leading female attorneys, I am also excited to announce that Jennet Alterman, the Executive Director of the Center for Women, will also be in attendance at the Center’s booth in the market fair.”

The vendors have provided numerous raffle prizes to be given away at the end of the evening, including three separate Parisian Facial Peels from Coastal Facial Plastic Surgery valued at $125 a piece, a free spinal exam and hour long massage from the Center for Holistic Health, two free tickets for an art class at Bottles ‘N Brushes, gift certificates from Susan Hauser Jewelry, a wine and cheese basket from HumanaOne Healthcare, and much more!
