Uhaul employee holds burglary suspect at gunpoint

Charleston Police report a an employee at a Downtown Uhaul store pulled his gun on a man who was breaking into the store.

42-year-old Richard Myers was standing in the store’s showroom with a gun pointed at him when police arrived around 5:45 Tuesday morning. Police say it appears he used a hard object to smash a window and break in.

When he got inside a startled store employee pulled his gun and ordered Myers down to the floor. Police say the employee has a concealed weapons permit. Police secured the gun and arrested Myers for burglary in the first degree.
