Tropical Depression #2 struggles to stay alive

Tropical Depression #2 has weakened and is barely hanging on to depression status.

Maximum sustained winds, as of the 5 A.M. Advisory, have been lowered from 35 to 30 mph.

The depression continues to move off to the west at 12 mph.

Showers and thunderstorms have diminished greatly from Wednesday when the depression neared tropical storm status.

Another wave behind TD #2 has the potential to develop into a tropical depression over the next 24 to 48 hours.
