A new study is aimed at understanding tornadoes better than ever before. Vortex 2 is the largest and most ambitious effort that has ever taken shape. They hope to figure out what leads to the formation and dissipation of tornadoes. More than 100 scientists and crew will be chasing tornadoes through early June. If at any point they see tornadic activity they will bring it to you live on the Weather Channel.
