In a small building outside Charleston, South Carolina there’s a room that smells like cookies and other deliriously good treats.
Chef Judy Pop is a seventh-generation chef and one of the master minds behind a deliciously simple concept.
That concept is this: If we bake cookies with exactly the same ingredients your mom and grandma used, our cookies will be just as good.
Judy’s real homemade cookie batter is heavenly.
“Everything is from scratch,“ she explains. “So we don’t have any of the chemicals, any of the gumpar, whatever that you can’t even pronounce.“
That is precisely what the Charleston Cookie Company is all about: Wholesome, homemade cookies ready to ship all over the country.
Judith Moore started the company in 2003 and it quickly caught on.
“I had no idea when I started what it was going to wind up being,“ she said, “that it was going to be this big.“
They now supply several popular bakery chains, including Dean and Deluca, who sell them as their “Americana Cookies”.
