Teen driving class
Attention parents of teen drivers, the Charleston Police Department continues to offer a driving class to teens entitled Collision Avoidance Training (CAT). The next session will be held Friday Evening January 30 (6-10pm), continuing the next morning Saturday Jan 31(7:30am-5pm). THERE IS STILL SPACE IN THIS CLASS.
The CAT class includes 4 hours of classroom instruction followed by a day of driving on a closed course. The class is taught by Charleston Police Traffic Division officers. There is a fee of $25 to cover the book; students MUST have AT LEAST a RESTRICTED LICENSE to participate due to prerequisite skill level and logistical concerns. Class size is limited, so sign up now for future classes. Report both days to the lobby of CPD Headquarters at 180 Lockwood Blvd. - The Police Station is behind the new court building.
