A Lowcountry boy graced the stage in the Scripps National Spelling Bee, but unfortunately, didn’t make it to the semi-finals.

Ben Gamble goes to Pinewood Preparatory school in Summerville.

He made it to round three, where he misspelled “tinnitus”, which is a ringing in the ears.

Ben made it past round one, which is a test of 25 words.

He also passed round two, with the word “nationalism”.

But round three got him.

Ben says he hopes to someday become an actor or author.

Congrats to him on making it as far as he did!
