South Carolina says you only have three minutes to vote once you get through the lines.

We asked one voter to read just the four amendments on the ballot in Dorchester County.  After three minutes she was just getting to the last amendment and hadn’t even looked at the names of the people running for office yet.

But how much will poll workers enforce the three-minute rule?  We spoke with director of voter registration in Dorchester County to find out.

“We try to stick to that three minutes as close as possible, but we’re not going to kick people out.  If they spend longer than ten minutes then we’ll start helping them along because we want to try to get everybody in and out,” explained Joe Debney, Director of elections for the county.

Dorchester County has one county-wide amendment on the ballot.  You’ll vote on whether or not bars and restaurants can sell alcohol on Sundays.

Voting yes, means you will be allowed to purchase alcohol on Sundays.

Voting no, keeps the current “blue laws” in place.
