UPDATE: Severe Thunderstorm Watch cancelled for most of the Lowcountry

The threat of severe weather has come to an end across the area. A lone thunderstorm is pushing off the coast of Beaufort County. No more severe weather is expected overnight or this weekend.

UPDATE 6:52PM
Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms are possible for the next hour or two. Severe thunderstorms are possible across Georgetown and Williamsburg Counties for the next hour. Elsewhere, the weather should be calming down and it will lead to great weather this weekend!

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for the Lowcountry until 10PM Friday. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will move through this afternoon and evening. The strongest storms will potentially contain large hail and produce damaging wind gusts.
