One lane on Highway 176 in Goose Creek is now open, after being closed due to a gas leak.

Goose Creek police closed the Highway, between Brandywine Blvd. and Old Moncks Corner Road after a crew, working on a water line project hit a 2 inch gas line. Since then, one lane has been reopened, but officers are still asking motorists to take an alternate route.

Around one-hundred customers may lose service as a result of gas leak.  No evacuations were necessary.  Officials say they do not have an estimated repair time right now.
