As of 5:00 pm, a weather system dumped between one and two inches of rain on the Charleston area.  The rainy weather caused localized flooding and downed branches from the gusty winds it brought with it.  Rainfall totals, as of 5:00 pm, were 1.5” in Dorchester and Berkeley Counties, and 1” in Downtown Charleston and near the airport.  Storm Team 2 meteorologist was on Folly Beach, where he reported high surf and wind gusts up to 35 mph.  Storm Team 2 meteorologist Josh Marthers also reported flooding near Shem Creek in Mount Pleasant.  The rain was expected to last into early Saturday morning.  Send us your weather pictures at .
