UPDATE: Possible tornado in Hanahan

» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

People across the Hanahan area are out of power after a possible tornado rips through the area.

Trees are down, and many of them have fallen onto homes. Power lines are also littering the streets.

We spoke with a representative for the Hanahan Police Department. They told us power is still out at the police department, and they are asking people to stay off the streets.

Luckily, they say there are no reports of injuries or significant structural damage.

The National Weather Service will be out Sunday morning surveying the damage to determine if it was caused by straight-line winds or by a tornado.

A funnel cloud developed with a seperate thunderstorm near Summerville around 7:30 Saturday evening. No reports of major damage with that storm.
