"The only racism in South Carolina is encouraged by racist groups like "Acorn" and NAACP. THIS IS HOW THEY MAKE THEIR MONEY. This is nothing too complicated. They take advantage of the "politically correct" atmosphere. Tell me if black or white is the color of choice when crimes are commited, Heck, 9 out of 10 times a black person is the culprit. Look at the news every day. Prove me otherwise. In fact, it is a nice relief to me when I see a whie criminal just because it brings hope to me that I just may be wrong. BUT, It is proven daily that black is the human of choice when most crimes are commited." Wrong, all the way around. My rapist was an ugly white man.

Heck ya it is!! For those who think it isn't, well you might as well take the blinders off and do a little listening and watching. I will agree it isn't pervasive everywhere, but the State definitely has issues when it comes to race.

Is SC. racist for the most part I would have to say no. I would also have to say that there are some organization and pollutions that try and keep at the forefront of everything going on in SC.

Somehow my first comment disappeared so here it is again. I don't think SC is a racist state. I do object to the media trying to interject race into every debate. The media is so biased it isn't funny. Their reporting is decidedly one sided. I don't know Mr. Wilson but I don't believe his outburst was racist. He was reacting to Congress trying to cram health care reform down the throats of Americans without giving specific details on how to accomplish it or pass a bill that Congress hasn't even read. That's how stuff gets passed and no one knows what they even voted on. That is no excuse for a lousy bill being passed. I don't know about you but I have lost all trust in Congress given their latest spending sprees. Democrates are no better and personnaly I think worse than Repbulicans. Everything is so political it isn't funny and never has been.

Charlestowne hate filled blogs are not isolated to right wing conservatives. There are extremist on both sides, but what is starting to anger many conservatives is the accusation that just because you have conservation views your racist. This is an accusation based on some far far far right people, not the majority of conservatives. You complain about Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck, but what about Rachel Maddow or Keith Olbermann. They spew hate all the time. They turned the Tea Bagging movement into a sexual joke. I do agree with some of the things that Limbaugh and Beck have to say, but not all. My wish is that the media or whoever would stop pick the one person out of 10,000 who says something stupid or nasty and associating it with the whole group. I don't not believe that just because you live in this country you are entitled to things. Entitlements make people lazy and if you want this country to remain competitive and one of the best in the world you don't start giving things away for free. Kids today really need to be taught that if you work hard you can achieve your goals.

I am finding great humor in comparing the floor to a church or a funeral, this country great laws were hashed out in a very heated manner. Had everyone sat with their mouths closed we may not be here today. I believe someone said earlier and it is true....many people hated Bush and told him so in the same exact setting and no one even turned a brow. What makes this case in different? Obama is the president and there is going to be a lot of people who disagree with him and they should be able to express it in this exact setting. It is capitol hill not powder puff hill. Has anyone read the release last night from the white house which backs up Joe Wilson's accusation?

TMMc my point was that there is an appropriate way to act in certain places. We don't play radios or yell at the preacher in church and we act with a certain decorum at funerals. Certain places require cetain types of behavior. The same is true in the halls of congress. Certain forms of behavior are not acceptable. Joe Wilson crossed that line. I have no personal knowledge of the man so I don't know if he is racist or not. But I do know his behavior was out of line for the setting he was in. Once out of the chamber he can say anything he wants. Others who know him better can judge his motivation for his actions. I hope you had a good nights rest and a good morning to you.

Anyone on this forum notice how easy it was to get to the real issues once racsim took a back seat? We discussed the President, the banking industry, healthcare, socialism, etc. The word racism divides us. When the word is brought in a conversation, it instills bitterness and anger. Nothing ever gets solved when people are bitter and angry. Cooler heads always prevail. As I said on my very first comment, leave racism out of the equation. Do not allow it to be an excuse. People's actions toward another may be racially motivated, but their action toward the opposing party is wrong because it is wrong, period. Don't play the race card. Simply address what the opposing party did wrong. You don't have to call him racist to say what he did to you was wrong. If we can ever get past the race issue, we can address real problems.

Charlestowne ~ Typical attack response. I would expect that if your "religion" teaches you something different than my faith that you would NOT be in my "church" to begin with unless you were there searching because you didn't really have much faith in your religion to begin with or were there to be confrontational like you did here. As for your funeral example, that was just comparing "apples to oranges" and doesn't need a further response in my opinion. Last time I checked, Europe was not doing too wonderful with socialist type governments either. Maybe you should speak to more folks from those country's on the net. All of them I have talked to would rather be here. And I do mean ALL of them. So go try and "dress someone else down" with your superior attitude. I am not buying what you are trying to sling. Have a wonderful evening though. I spoke my peace which is what I believe this forum is meant for and am now headed to bed for some needed rest. Goodnight.
