Piggly Wiggly announces layoffs

Piggly Wiggly officials said the grocery store chain has laid off about 30 workers.
The company laid off 26 workers last Friday at its corporate offices and two warehouses.
The 61-year-old Charleston-based chain employs about 5,000 people and operates 115 stores in the Carolinas and Georgia.
